These are set out in Implementing Regulation EU 2021\/1228.<br \/>\nThis was aimed at achieving better working conditions, a level playing field and greater safety in road transport.<br \/>\nThis new version 2 of the intelligent tachograph is referred to by Continental VDO as &#8220;DTCO 4.1&#8221; and by Stoneridge as &#8220;SE5000 Smart 2&#8221;. In accordance with Regulation (EU) 165\/2014, technical changes have been made to meet the requirements for the tachograph. Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021\/1228, which was published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 30\/07\/2021 and entered into force on 19\/08\/2021, contains these amendments.<br \/>\nThe Intelligent Tachograph Generation 2 Version 2 offers the following new functions:<\/p>\n<p><strong>What are the new features of GEN2 V2 tachographs compared to GEN2 V1?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Automatic recording of border crossings, which helps the control authorities to verify the information regarding the route.<\/li>\n<li>Possibility of logging loading and unloading operations<\/li>\n<li>Doubling of the storage capacity from 28 to 56 days (mandatory from the end of 2024)<\/li>\n<li>The intelligent tachograph has the option of checking the authenticity of signals from the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) More data security and protection against cyber attacks by using the European Galileo signal (OSNMA) (not yet active at launch)<\/li>\n<li>The tachograph uses the secure radio transmission DSRC (Dedicated Short Range Communication) for remote queries and now also provides information on driving time violations via this interface. This technology enables the enforcement authorities to check data from the tachograph for the purpose of pre-selection during roadside checks without having to stop the vehicle.<\/li>\n<li>All tachograph cards remain compatible with the new intelligent tachographs and can continue to be used until they expire. Generation <b>im grenz\u00fcberschreitenden Verkehr<\/b> mit mehr als 3,5t Gesamtgewicht auf einen GEN2 V2 umger\u00fcstet sein. Die alten digitalen Tachografen GEN1 sowie analoge Tachografen sind nicht mehr erlaubt.<\/p>\n<p class=\"tplusstandard\">Bestandsfahrzeuge, die <b>grenz\u00fcberschreitend<\/b> eingesetzt werden und einen Tachografen der 1. Generation (GEN2 V1) besitzen, m\u00fcssen bis <b>August 2025<\/b> auf die neue Version GEN2 V2 umger\u00fcstet werden.<\/p>\n<p class=\"tplusstandard\">Dar\u00fcber hinaus wird <b>ab Juli 2026<\/b> auch f\u00fcr Nutzfahrzeuge mit einem Gesamtgewicht zwischen 2,5 und 3,5 Tonnen, die <b>grenz\u00fcberschreitend<\/b> unterwegs sind, ein Tachograf (GEN2 V2) erforderlich sein.<\/p>\n<p class=\"tplusstandard\">Bereiten Sie sich schon jetzt auf die vorgeschriebenen Umr\u00fcstungen analoger und digitaler Tachografen (Anhang 1B) vor. Die Nachr\u00fcstung der 1. Generation intelligenter Tachografen muss bis 20. August 2025 vollzogen sein.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p class=\"tplusstandard\">Die neuen Datenstrukturen des Tachografen GEN2 V2 (Massenspeicher) sind mit \u00e4lteren TachoPlus-Versionen <b>nicht kompatibel<\/b>. Daher m\u00fcssen auch die Downloadl\u00f6sungen, die zum Herunterladen von Daten vom Tachografen verwendet werden, wie beispielsweise Downloadkeys oder Downloadterminals aktualisiert werden.
